Soil Reclamation
There are 15 million hectare (more than 10% of 142 million hectare of net sown
area in India) of land affected with the problem of saline sodic soil.
The Company’s R & D centre has developed a unique microbial technology package
for reclamation of such problem soil by replacing the conventional use of gypsum
which is not only expensive being a chemical method of reclamation but also rarely
accessible to the affected farmers.
The technology so developed is capable of reclaiming the soil within one month
of its application, reducing both soil pH and Exchangeable Sodium Percentage (ESP)
towards normal.
